When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Children who do not qualify under the earlier criteria are ranked by the distance from their home to the requested school's gate, measured by the shortest walking route.
DENBIGHSHIRE DOES NOT OPERATE CATCHMENT AREAS — it uses a 'nearest suitable school' test, qualified by the child's age, parental language preference and faith preference for Church in Wales schools. THE FEEDER CRITERION IS CONDITIONAL AND EASILY MISREAD: a primary or junior school counts as a 'feeder' ONLY IF, at the point the child joined it, that school was the nearest suitable school to the child's home at that time. Attending a feeder school the family chose for other reasons therefore does not earn this priority.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
This school hasn't claimed its profile yet, so it can't receive enquiries here. Leave your details and we'll pass them on if the school joins School Atlas.
