When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. The distance measured will be the shortest walking route from the centre of the pupil's home to the main entrance on the school site which is available to pupils at the time of undertaking the assessment. Distance measurements will be undertaken using the Local Authority's computerised Geographical Information System [GIS]. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school. All the names will be entered into a hat and the required number of names will be drawn out.
Within each category, priority is first given to children with exceptional social, medical or pastoral need (with compelling written evidence), then to siblings. The governing body will, where logistically possible, admit twins and all siblings from multiple births where one of the children is the last child ranked within the PAN.
