When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of oversubscription in any category above priority will be determined by the proximity of the child's home to Finham Park 2 using a straight-line measurement will be made, using a computerised mapping system, from the centre of the child's residence – to the centre of the school site. The address used must be the child's permanent home address. The shortest measurement will have the highest priority. Where the final place in a year group can be taken by two or more children living an equal distance from the school, the Admissions Panel will select by drawing lots which will be supervised by an adjudicator independent of the school.
The distance-based criteria (4 and 5) create a geographic banding effect: up to 50% of remaining places (after criteria 1-3) go to children within 1 mile, then children from 1-2 miles, then all others by distance. Post-16 (Sixth Form) has a separate PAN of 100 for Year 12, with 10 external places; separate oversubscription criteria apply for Post 16.
