was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Coundon Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If the number of applications is less than the published admission number then all applicants will be offered a place. All applicants with an Education, Health and Care Plan which names the school must be admitted before places are allocated using the oversubscription criteria. If there are more requests for a school than there are places available within the school’s admission number, places will be allocated in accordance with the following criteria and in the order shown below. If it is not possible to meet all of the requests in any one of the categories described above, the City Council will prioritise the requests based on the distance to the school. A straight-line measurement will be made, using a computerised mapping system, from the centre of the child's residence - to the centre of the preferred school site. The address used must be the child's permanent home address. The shortest measurement will have the highest priority. Where the final place in a year group can be taken by two or more children living an equal distance from the school, the local authority, overseen independently, will select by drawing lots. Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
