When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Children Looked After / Previously Looked After — Category A ‘Children Looked After’ and ‘Previously Children Looked After’.
2. 2Exceptional medical or educational needs — Category B Children who have exceptional medical or educational needs which in the opinion of the Admissions Authority justifies admission to a particular school (see 1.7.3.2).
3. 3Catchment area — Category C Children who live within the catchment area of the school.
4. 4Siblings — Category D Pupils who have siblings who attend the school or who attend the partner infant/junior/primary schools.
5. 5Partner school attendance — Category E Children who attend the partner infant/primary/junior school.
6. 6Outside catchment / not eligible for other categories — Category F Those who live outside the catchment area and who are not eligible for any of the categories above.

If two applications tie: Priority within each category will be determined by the shortest walking distance to/from the school, calculated using the Local Authority's preferred software solution from the nearest recognised public road access point of the applicant's home address to the recognised main entrance gate of the school.

Local-authority coordinated default oversubscription criteria for Conwy County Borough Council's community and voluntary-controlled schools (the council is the admission authority). Some community/voluntary-controlled schools in this authority apply catchment-area, feeder-school or priority-area variants — check the individual school for its exact arrangements. Voluntary Controlled schools listed use the same admission policy as Conwy CBC community schools. Document notes each school has a defined catchment area with its own boundary map, and siblings category includes partner infant/junior/primary school links which may vary by school pairing. Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools set their own separate arrangements (not covered by this default list).
