If two applications tie: In the event of the Governors being unable to offer all children in a particular oversubscription category a place will be offered to multiple births and those children living closest to the school measured by the safest walking route as determined by the Local Authority.

Children with a statement for special educational need naming St Alban’s Catholic Primary School will be admitted before oversubscription criteria are applied. Looked After and previously Looked After Children are given priority within each oversubscription category. Sibling definition: a child who has a sibling on roll at St Alban’s in the September the applicant would begin school, with priority given by reference to the youngest sibling in the school (youngest commands highest priority); includes brother/sister, half-brother/sister, step-brother/sister, and adopted or fostered children at the same address. Multiple birth children: if the last child admitted under the criteria is one of a multiple birth, the other sibling(s) will also be admitted. Parents must apply via the Council's School Admission Portal (www.cardiff.gov.uk) AND complete the school's own supplementary application form (available from the school office or website). Right of appeal: parents may appeal in writing within 14 days to the Clerk to the Governors; appeals are heard by an independent panel appointed by the Diocese of Llandaff. Waiting list maintained until 30th September, ranked by published oversubscription criteria, not by date of application. Misleading or fraudulent information may result in withdrawal or removal of an offered place.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
