When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where the Admissions Committee is unable to offer a place for all children within any category because the admission number would be exceeded, places are allocated in this priority: first, children who have a brother or sister (including step-brother/step-sister living in the same house) attending the school at the time they would be admitted were their application to be successful; then those who live nearest to the school. Proximity is measured by the shortest walking distance from the school postcode to the home postcode as measured by RAC Route Planner (Walking), using All Saints' own main postcode as printed in the policy (CF23 79LF as printed; the school's registered postcode is CF23 9LF). Where parents do not live at the same address, the 'home address' is the address where the child spends the majority of the school week (at least 3 evenings/nights, Sunday to Thursday) during term time.
All Saints and St David's Church in Wales Primary Schools form The Saints' Federation and are governed by ONE printed admissions policy. That policy prints the eight ordered oversubscription categories once; All Saints' own section of the policy directs the reader to them (“Places will be offered to those in Category 1, any remaining places to those in Category 2, then Category 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and then finally to any other applicants in Category 8”) but does not reprint the list. The categories recorded here are that single printed list, verbatim. All Saints' planned admission number is 30. The proximity tie-break uses each school's own postcode, so All Saints' measure differs from St David's. The Governing Body reserves the right to depart from these criteria if there is compelling evidence that the welfare of a child will be seriously prejudiced if the child is not admitted.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
