When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (P1), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If all other factors are equal a ballot will be used to determine places.
A child refused during the normal round is placed on a Standing List held from 30 April to the last day of the academic year; places arising are offered in the catchment priority order. The Council does not normally provide transport for successful placement requests. A child at a non-catchment primary by placement request does not automatically transfer to that primary's associated secondary unless they live in its catchment. Requests for pupils with additional support needs are handled under the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
