When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If in categories 2 – 4 above a tie-break is necessary to determine which child is admitted, the child living closest to the school will be given priority for admission. Distance is measured from the child’s home to a central point within the school building in a straight line as held on Bristol City Council’s computerised mapping system. Random allocation undertaken by another body unconnected with Oasis Community Learning will be used as a tie-break in categories 2 – 4 above to decide who has highest priority for admission if the distance between a child’s home and the academy is equidistant in any two or more cases.
Places are offered first to children with an Education, Health and Care plan naming the school, before the numbered criteria are applied. Twins/multiples exception noted: when the furthest distance to qualify for a place relates to a household containing two or more children for whom applications are made, the remaining child will also be offered a place above the PAN if necessary.
