was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Avanti Gardens School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Random allocation will be used as a tie-break to decide who has highest priority for admission if the distance between two children's homes and the school is the same. This process will be independently verified and a fresh round of random allocation will be used each time a child is to be offered a place from the waiting list. Random allocation will not be applied to multiple birth siblings (twins, triplets etc.) from the same family who are tied for the final place. We will admit them all and exceed our PAN.
Children with an EHCP are admitted under separate statutory processes and are not admitted under this policy. Where admitted in the normal admission round, the number of places available within the PAN will be reduced. Within oversubscription categories, the order of allocation is by distance (straight line) from home to school, measured using Bristol City Council's computerised mapping system.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
