When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated using the local authority's computerised measuring system... In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each of the six categories, priority is further increased in this order: (i) attendance of a brother or sister at the school at the time of enrolment places the application at the top of its category; (ii) child(ren) of a member of staff employed at the school for two or more consecutive years, or recruited to fill a demonstrable skill-shortage vacant post, are placed at the top of the category after (i). Twins/siblings from multiple births are admitted together where one child is the last ranked within PAN. Document also states EHCP children must be admitted first (statutory, not numbered as a criterion).
