Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.

When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Random allocation observed by an independent representative of the LA and members of the AT Admissions Panel; each applicant is allocated a number and these are drawn at random. Separate draws are made for in-Borough pupils and out-of-Borough pupils.
Places are split 50% (28 places) to pupils from the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen (in-Borough) and 50% (28 places) to pupils from outside the Borough (out-of-Borough). Should there be fewer than 50% of applications from either geographical area, the remaining percentage will be offered to the other geographical area. All pupils with an EHCP naming QEPS will be admitted before oversubscription criteria are applied.
