Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Turves Green Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Within each of these categories, priority is given to those who live nearest the academy, calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between home and academy. In a very small number of cases it may not be possible to decide between the applications of those pupils who are the final qualifiers for a place... the Local Authority will use a computerised system to randomly select the child to be offered the final place.
Any child with a statement of special educational needs (or EHCP) naming the academy is required to be admitted; this is stated as a statutory duty and not an oversubscription criterion, giving overall priority above the ranked criteria. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Birmingham City Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
