When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the School Standards Committee will give priority firstly to children who will have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School at the time of admission and then secondly to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance
The council booklet says the school's Supplementary Information Form (from the school office) must also be completed and returned to the school office: "Both must be completed to be considered for a place." Catholic applicants need evidence of Catholic baptism or reception into the Church. Birmingham City Council's booklet for September 2027 prints these criteria; the school's own policy has the full definitions.
