Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Holy Family Catholic Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the Governing Body will give priority to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the child's home address and the front gate. In the event of equal distances, the Local Authority will use a computerised system to randomly select the child to be offered the final place.
Parish boundaries are as shown on the Archdiocese of Birmingham parish boundary map. Attendance at the school's Nursery does not automatically guarantee a Reception place. For looked after children, a carer who is Catholic must provide their own Catholic Baptismal or Reception certificate for the child to be ranked as Catholic.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
