When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the governing body will give priority firstly to children who will have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School at the time of admission and then secondly to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (see Note 6 below). Where equal distance ties cannot be resolved, a computerised random selection is used.
Children with an EHC Plan naming the school must be admitted; this is not an oversubscription criterion and reduces available places. Twins/multiple births admitted where possible even if it exceeds PAN. Waiting list maintained until end of summer term 2028, re-ranked as new applicants join or as feeder-school status changes.
