When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated using the local authority's computerised measuring system. The Barking and Dagenham Admissions Team measure all distances using SIA's geographical information system (SMART) from the centre of the child's home to the school's main gate. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each of the categories listed, sub-priorities apply in order: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need places the application at the top of the category; (ii) attendance of a brother or sister at the school increases priority within the category after (i).
