When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (P1), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Children who normally reside in the Parish of Kilmore. Please note, a clearly defined map of the Parish of Kilmore is available on the school website St Oliver Plunketts Primary School Website
2. 2Children for whom St. Oliver Plunkett’s P.S. is the nearest Catholic Maintained Primary School to the child’s normal place of residence. Distance will be measured using driving distance from the child’s normal place of residence to school using Google Maps UK by road, priority being given to those living closest to the school.
3. 3Children from other areas. St. Oliver Plunkett's Primary School (Ballyhegan) Annahugh Park Ballyhegan Armagh Maintained Primary School In the event of oversubscription in any one of the above criteria the following sub-criteria will be applied in the following order; (a) Children who, at the date of their application, have a sibling/child of the family currently enrolled in the school (e.g. brothers and sisters, half-brothers/sisters, step-brothers/sisters, including those fostered or adopted).
4. 4Children who are classified as ‘Child Looked After’ defined by the Children (NI) Order 1995 and who are in the care of a Trust or who are provided accommodation by a Trust. (c) Children who, at the date of their application, are the eldest child of the family eligible to be enrolled in primary school. Parents can provide one of the following documents to prove eldest or only child: a letter from a member of the Clergy, Solicitor, or Public Servant such as a Health visitor or Education professional to include a pre-school/ Nursery Principal/ Teacher directly involved with the family. (d) Children with special circumstances (social, medical or security). The special circumstances must be made known at the time of application. The Board of Governors reserves the right to seek confirmation of the circumstances from a statutory body. If oversubscribed in the above sub-criteria taken in order, final selection will be on the basis of closeness of the home to the school. Distance will be measured from the child’s normal place of residence to school using Google Map UK, driving measurement by public road – priority will be given to those living nearest to the school. In the event that two or more children live the same distance from the school, children will be selected by date of birth, with preference given to the eldest child/children, as determined by the date of birth as it appears on the birth certificate.
