Two denominational primaries (St Margaret's RC, Montrose and St Thomas RC, Arbroath) serve dual-catchment addresses in the Arbroath, Brechin and Montrose areas; entitlement is by Roman Catholic baptismal certificate, otherwise the request is treated as a placing request. Gaelic Medium Education at Whitehills Primary has a delineated area that extends to the whole Angus Council boundary (Report 801/99), accommodated up to a class size of 16, with GME continuing at Forfar Academy S1-3. Six primary catchments have split secondary catchments (Aberlemno, Friockheim, Inverkeilor, St Margaret's, St Thomas, Tannadice) and five are dual catchment with a choice of secondary (Auchterhouse, Birkhill, Liff, Newtyle, Strathmartine).
